Hoop Counter Cam sends the live score and clock to an Ulanzi pixel clock over your Wi‑Fi. Hang it on the fence or the wall – the whole court sees 14–10 5:12 in bright pixels.

Compatibility
The app talks to the display through the open‑source Awtrix 3 firmware’s HTTP API (POST /api/custom). Any display running Awtrix 3 works.

Setup in five steps
Flash Awtrix 3
Connect the TC001 to your computer with USB‑C, open the Awtrix 3 web flasher in Chrome and click Install. Takes two minutes.
Join Wi‑Fi
The clock creates a hotspot on first boot. Connect to it, enter your Wi‑Fi name and password. Use the same Wi‑Fi your scoreboard phone is on.
Find the IP address
The clock shows its IP once after connecting (e.g. 192.168.1.50). You can also see it in your router’s device list or the Awtrix web UI.
Enter it in the app
Hoop Counter Cam → Settings → Pixel display (Ulanzi) → turn on “Send score to a pixel display” and type the IP address. Pro required.
Play
Start a game on the scoreboard phone (or a single‑device game). The score updates on the display after every basket, the clock once per second.
Tip: mobile hotspot from the scoreboard phone works on courts without Wi‑Fi – connect the clock to the hotspot and use the phone’s hotspot address.
Troubleshooting
Nothing shows up on the display
Check that phone and clock are on the same network and that the IP is right: open http://<ip> in Safari on the phone – the Awtrix web UI should load. Local Network permission must be allowed for the app in iOS Settings.
The score updates but the clock lags
Normal on busy Wi‑Fi. The app sends the clock once per second at most and the score immediately after each basket.
Can I use the display without Awtrix?
Not with the stock Ulanzi firmware – it has no open API. Awtrix 3 is free and reversible.
